Svenska Statistikfrämjandets arbetsgrupp ”Auktorisering av statistiker” tog inför årsmötet 2012 fram en rapport som sammanfattar dess arbete. Rapporten är skriven av Carl-Fredrik Burman och Mats Rudholm. Författarnas ambition har varit att på ett objektivt sätt belysa problematiken kring auktoriseringsfrågan i syfte att underlätta framtida beslut i frågan.
CALL FOR PAPERS – NTTS 2013

Webbredaktor NTTS (New Techniques and Technologies for Statistics) is a biannual international scientific conference on the impact of new technologies on statistical collection, production and dissemination systems.
The purpose of the conference is to stimulate and facilitate the preparation of new innovative projects, to encourage co-operation and possible building of consortia by researchers with the aim of enhancing the quality and usefulness of official statistics and to prepare activities related to research in statistics within the next European Framework Programme for Research and Development (Horizon 2020).
The NTTS 2013 conference will take place from 5 to 7 March 2013 in Brussels. The Scientific committee welcomes the submission of abstracts within all areas of relevance to the conference. Deadline for submission of abstracts is 31 October 2012.

The 24th Nordic Conference in Mathematical Statistics

Nordstat is a biennial international meeting for statisticians and probabilists, organized by the Nordic and Baltic countries. The scientific programme will include several invited speakers as well as contributed talks and posters on a broad range of topics. We welcome you to SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT for a contributed talk or a poster presentation. Topics of contributed presentations are not restricted to the themes of the invited sessions. A prize will be awarded to the best poster at the conference. Submission deadline is March 1, 2012.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION is available until April 1, 2012.

Lean – och/eller statistik
13 december, 2011 Webbredaktor Den 7 december hade statistikfrämjandet ett medlemsmöte i Stockholm. Göran Lande höll en presentation med titeln ” Lean – och/eller statistik”. Presentationen finns nu på vår hemsida så att alla som inte kunde komma kan ta del av vad Göran presenterade.
Syftet med presentation var att introducera Lean som förbättringskoncept och jämföra dess effektivitet med Six Sigma och statistisk metodik. Presentationen visar syfte med Lean och vad konceptet bör bygga på vid införande. Toyotas Lean Production grundprinciper och tankesätt presenteras tillsammans med verktyg för förbättringsarbete. Presentationen ställer antal frågor som bör beaktas vid införande av Lean. Jämförelse med andra metoder visar att man bör komplettera Lean med mera statistiskt metodik för att göra den lika kostnadseffektiv. Presentationen bygger på exempel från industrin och byggsektor där statistisk metodik har används för att lösa problem.

21 november, 2011 Webbredaktor A Winter conference in Spatial Statistics will be held at Orsa Grönklitt March 11 – 15 2012. The invited speakers are: Håvard Rue, Roger Bivand, Konstantin Krivoruchko

Orsa Grönklitt is a ski resort with good opportunities for both cross-country and downhill skiing, and there is time set off in the conference program for skiing. Orsa Grönklitt is also the place of the largest bear park in Europe and a tour of the bear park is included in the program.
