Handelshögskolan är värd för statistikämnet vid Örebro universitet och bedriver utbildning i statistik på grund, avancerad och forskarnivå. Förutom statistikerprogrammet ges kurser inom civilekonomprogrammet och flera samhällsvetenskapliga utbildningar samt inom vård-, naturvetenskapliga och tekniska utbildningar. På avancerad nivå ges ett tvåårigt masterprogram i statistik som tilldelats utmärkelsen European Master in Official Statistics (EMOS) av Eurostat. Masterprogrammet innehåller också en inriktning mot ekonometri. Ämnet ger också kurser inom ramen för masterprogrammen i nationalekonomi och finansiell ekonomi.

Inom ämnesgruppen bedrivs forskning främst med inriktning mot ekonometri, tidsserieanalys, Bayesiansk statistik samt surveymetodik och statistikproduktion. Forskningen bedrivs i nära anknytning till tillämpningsämnen, särskilt samarbeten med SCB och nationalekonomiämnet kan nämnas.

Arbetsuppgifter
En universitetslektor förutsätts ägna sin tid åt både utbildning på samtliga nivåer och forskning, samt därtill hörande samverkan. I arbetsuppgifterna ingår förutom undervisning, forskning och samverkan även utvecklingsarbete, administration, och kompetensutveckling. Undervisningen omfattar dessutom handledning, examination, kursutveckling, planering och utvärdering.
Anställningen är på 100% och tillsvidare.

Behörighet
Behörig att anställas som universitetslektor är den som dels visat pedagogisk skicklighet, dels har avlagt doktorsexamen inom ämnesområdet eller har motsvarande vetenskaplig kompetens eller någon annan yrkesskicklighet som är av betydelse med hänsyn till anställningens ämnesinnehåll och de arbetsuppgifter som skall ingå i anställningen.

Ett generellt behörighetskrav för tills vidareanställning som lärare är genomgången högskolepedagogisk utbildning motsvarande 10 veckor. Kompetens motsvarande högskolepedagogisk utbildning kan prövas och bedömas vara behörighetsgrundande.

Karolinska Institutet, The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics

The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MEB) is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the aetiology of different diseases. Our department consists of researchers, doctoral students, biostatisticians, data collectors and database administrators as well as administrative personnel, in total some 250 staff. Division
The position is in the biostatistics group, which at present comprises of around 45 people, including 1 senior professor, 3 professors, 4 senior lecturers, postdocs, applied biostatisticians and PhD students. The primary activities of the biostatistics group include (i) own research, with a strong methodological component, in population-based studies, and in genetic and molecular epidemiology, (ii) collaboration with researchers in epidemiology, biomedicine and clinical science, and (iii) biostatistics teaching both at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Duties
The Department wants to strengthen the faculty and recruit a world-class researcher in biostatistics. The successful candidate is expected to initiate, perform and lead research, supervise PhD candidates, participate in teaching and in exam settings, and carry out administrative duties in accordance with the needs of the department and of Karolinska Institutet. The ability to successfully obtain external research funds is important.

Entry requirements
All professors at Karolinska Institutet must demonstrate scientific as well as pedagogical competence. The eligibility requirements for appointment as a professor at KI are specified in the ”Appointment procedure for teachers at Karolinska Institutet”.

To qualify, the applicant must be an established independent researcher in biostatistics, statistics or a related discipline. She/he must have a strong research record of both applied and methodological statistics, together with a strong interest in biology, medicine, epidemiology and/or public health, and she/he must have excellent pedagogical skills. The candidate is expected to be one of the future leaders of biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet, so should show well-documented leadership and collaboration experience. Applicants must have been the principal recipient of research funding granted in national or international competition during the last five-year-period.

Bases of assessment
The Professorship has a focus on research. The assessment will weight qualifications as follows: research expertise (3), educational expertise (2), leadership, development and collaboration expertise (2).

The applicant must have undergone 10 weeks of higher education training in teaching in accordance with the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions recommendations for qualification as a higher education teacher or having otherwise obtained equivalent knowledge. A person appointed as a Professor but lacking training in higher education teaching must undergo such education during the first two years of employment.

After an overall assessment of the candidates merits and expertise Karolinska Institutet will judge which of the candidates that have the best potential to contribute to a positive development of the activities.

Ditt uppdrag

The Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM) is a department at Karolinska Institutet and an interdisciplinary research institution within the broad field of environmental medicine. IMM conducts cutting edge research within the areas of environmental and occupational medicine, toxicology, physiology, epidemiology, and biostatistics with the aim to clarify how environmental and lifestyle factors affect our health and which role genes have. Unit
The Unit of Biostatistics aims to contribute toward solving health problems and disseminating knowledge and culture of biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet and worldwide. Research, teaching, and collaboration with other researchers are essential parts of its mission. The Unit was established in 2010 at IMM and currently comprises about 20 affiliated researchers, including 1 Professor, 3 Assistant Professors, biostatisticians, post-docs and doctoral students. The Unit is also responsible for the Biostatistics Core Facility at KI and Stockholm County Council. The Unit seeks one or two qualified biostatisticians for new full time positions.

Work tasks
The new biostatisticians will provide statistical support to the Biostatistics Core Facility. The new biostatisticians will participate in

• statistical analyses and programming
• interpretation and dissemination of scientific results
• data management in collaboration with database developers
